I build it in fl studio (32bits) with the soundfonts plugin (the soundfont used was "sgm")overdubs were done with a "strings" sample and the rest was just the pure instrument with eq and reverb. (it also includes a subtle piano and choir).

Another free instrumental by anonymous producer mesostic. At a slow tempo, and with dissonant synthy chords, this is the perfect track for a hardline rapper to spit out some lines to. Or maybe it would make a great quirky soundtrack to your next homespun film project. The song was written in Ableton Live using Ableton core instruments and the U-He Diva soft synth on the lead line. This is a tone that i generated using my electric fender strat through one of my vintage amplifiers in my studio. Works well as a sample for composing soundscapes with it - i've used these tones in maschine and other sequencing/midi based instruments to create some interesting orchestral arrangements with the tones.

The instrument was a 1928 gibson l3. There are no effects. Key is (in order of best fit) d major, f# minor, e minor, g major, a blues. Time signature is 3/4, but these samples are mainly under a bar so can be used in a 4/4 song. I recorded some rain outside my front door. This is a tuned (a440) sample which you can use to achieve a sort of soft-yet-textured synth string sound in a virtual instrument like ableton's sampler. I think adding a little fake vibrato to it with multiple conflicting volume lfos sounds pretty nice. You're free to use this sound without attribution. This is a piece of music i made in fl studio. The hits are really hard so you may want to turn down your volume a bit.

This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. I sampled the bell tree at our church. After seeing how much the instrument costs at the music store, i opted to not buy one. The long version of this moves from left to right, and has the single sample repeat twice. So it begins on the left, has a delayed start in the center, then finally a third repeat starts on the right. Add liberal amounts of reverb, to taste. Made from a tom drum i created with xfer serum in reaper. Rendered the instrument as audio, then, sampled a small section of the tom and looped it infinitely to create a static frequency. Then i added the reapitch vst and created a smooth automation curve down to -24 semitones. Lastly, i added a short fade in and long fade out.

Friendly Evil Gangsta Synth Hip Hop Stem 3 is the drum kit, using Ableton's standard 808 samples and some funky production.

Articulations include a normal pizzicato, or finger plucked note; a stopped note as performed with the finger; a stopped note performed bartok style; and some miscellaneous sound effects: a slide by the hand down the strings, a slap on the strings, and a knock on the wooden body of the bass. A suspenseful riser made from a wet mix of a rate-shifted bed frame being hitted and reversed after it has been "glued" or rendered as is, producing a deep, "mega-marvin" similar sample. A sample that was created from utilizing chromatic tones, stretching, reverb and the use of the wet/dry filtering to get the mix "just right". If you aren't aware of what the mega-marvin is. Mega-marvins are essentially instruments containing extremely heavy string, woodwind and varying density of materials that generate strong noises, trailing ambiances and brass-like sound qualities quite suited to the horror genre, generating a daunting and sorrowful sounds. Very fascinating stuff, look it up if you can - they're big and quite technical.

In this patch i use bastl instruments tromsø as comparator, sample and hold and oscillator (3 in 1). The cv is coming from nonlinearcircuits jerk off. The audio out from tromsø goes through nonlinearcircuits timbre!. Some delay from an analog delay pedal and reverb from doepfer spring reverb. One voice exploring a chaotic cv source. Samples of the vintage korg mini pops 45 drum machine. No processing applied here but a very gentle fft based noise reduction. After all, i figured background noise was part of the machine's sonic identity. No patterns here, since that would have taken forever, just the individual sounds. Here is a simple yet usefull reel for your morphagene. I sampled various noise source from various modules to be used into my shared system, as this instrument does not contain any classic one. This reel is arranged like this:splice 1 : left = white noise / right = pink noisesplice 2: left = metallic noise / right = digital noisesplice 3 : left = tuned noise 1 / right = tuned noise 2splice 4 : left = tuned noise 2 / right = tuned noise 3splice 5 : left = tuned noise 4 / right = tuned noise 5splice 6 : left = tuned noise 6 / right = tuned noise 7splice 7 : left = downsampling noise sweep / right = fluctuating random noise sweep. Most sound comes from the verbos electronics random sampling module. The tuned noises are made of white noise fming the verbos harmonic oscillator, each are one of the eights harmonics being recorded. Enjoy !.

I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

A request for freesounder neilreynolds1980, intended as a soundtrack for the play dr faustus at the point the eponymous character is sucked into hell. A bit of technical information: the basic sound is a stacked set of ‘devil’s intervals’ (augmented fourths) with doubling at the octave, playing an instance of calf organ set to a truly horrifying demonic choir patch i created. The rest of the effects are accomplished using automation of this instrument as well as calf pulsator and calf filter in ardour. This sounds much better when downloaded than it does in the freesound player. The stereo image and sample rate are much reduced in the version you hear in the player.
